In this subproject, the research team from the Universidad de Extremadura, in collaboration with the team from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, is enhancing the capabilities of the group’s software for the analysis of infinite and finite antenna arrays. To this purpose, it employs the Fast Multipole Method combined with the Generalized Scattering Matrix formulation for finite arrays. Additionally, this formulation is extended for the efficient analysis of finite arrays with a superstrate. A novel method is also developed for infinite arrays, enabling rapid scanning in angle and cell.
The subproject also proposes the design of radial line slot antennas for space communications and multibeam antennas based on substrate-integrated waveguide (SIW) technology for 5G communications.
Finally, the group’s methods are applied to the development of sensor systems based on resonators for liquid characterization in SIW technology and 3D-printed waveguides.
